 Biography

Siobhan always played sport when she was younger, but it wasn’t until she was about 11 years old that she started playing football. Her 2 younger brothers both played for the Junior Fulham sides and she joined in and started playing with them and started playing for the Fulham Girls side.

As well as enjoying playing sport she also enjoyed school, so when she had the opportunity to go to the National Player Development Centre at Loughborough University when she was 18, she jumped at the chance. Siobhan was able to train every day as well as completing her Sport Science Degree and her Sports Nutrition Masters Degree. Being in that environment and training every day enabled her to improve massively as a player, and after being involved in numerous youth squads with England, she made her debut for the Senior Team against Holland in 2004.

Since the end of 2005 she has been involved in virtually every England squad including going to World Cup’s in both China and Germany and getting to the final of the European Championships in Finland.

Giving back to sport

Siobhan currently works as a lecturer / teaching assistant in a large Sports College in Bristol. There are numerous sporting academies which are run from the College and she is able to guide the students with both their academic studies and the role required of them as a young elite athlete.

As a Sporting Champion she has also been able to interact with a variety of young people, motivating them to continue participating in sport, and sharing experiences with them. Since the age of 15 she has been coaching children on football courses from a variety of backgrounds and across various standards and age groups, helping to improve them as players as well as giving them an opportunity to take part in sport.
